The Real Work of High Performance
From the outside, it looks like it's working.
The promotion came through. The team is performing. The business is growing. Then he gets home at 7:30, the kids are already fed, and he tells himself it's just a season.
Most high performers are very good at one side of their life. They build systems at work. They plan, prepare, and lead under pressure. At home, they react to whatever's loudest.
The Real Work of High Performance is a conversation about that gap.
Host Nicholas Brown spent more than twenty-five years leading professional kitchens, where preparation decides outcomes and every mistake shows up on the plate. Today he's a Certified High Performance Coach and the founder of Cooking Physics. He works with professional fathers who are winning at work and want to stop losing at home.
In each episode, Nicholas talks with leaders, executives, entrepreneurs, and fathers about what sits underneath their results. The decisions they don't post about. The systems that hold. The ones that broke. What they got wrong at home, and what changed when they finally took it seriously.
This isn't a show about hustle, and it isn't about motivation. It's about identity, integrity, and the structures that let a capable man lead well in every room he walks into, including his own kitchen.
Because the results are the easy part to talk about.
The real work is everything behind them.
